Fawad Alam feels very excited to take part in the historic test series against Sri Lanka. Pakistan is going to host the test squad of Sri Lanka for the series. Selectors of Pakistan cricket squad have included domestic veteran batsman Fawad Alam in the test squad of Pakistan for the series against Sri Lanka.
The left-handed batsman has made his test debut in 2009 where he played in three matches for Pakistan at a batting average of 41 Since then, Fawad Alam has not been picked in the Test side, but he has shown impressive performance in domestic cricket by scoring 34 centuries at an average of 56.84.
On Saturday Pakistan’s head coach and the chief selector of Pakistan cricket team said that Fawad Alam has been taken back in the Test squad on basis of his prolific form in the domestic games. The selection panel of Pakistan has faced so much criticism by Many former cricketers for ignoring Fawad Alam, even when he was performing well for his domestic side.
Misbah ul Haq, head coach Pakistan cricket team and chief selector said, “Fawad Alam’s selection is not based on just one year. It is an accumulation of his performances over 5 to 6 years. He has a career average of 57 and he is in the great form right now as well.”
