Favourite Sachin Tendulkar Moment

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is not just a name it’s an emotion. Millions of Indian cricket fans have grown up idolizing Sachin Tendulkar. The fact that the Indian team was entirely dependent on Tendulkar in the 90s is not a far-fetched one. We use to switch off the TVs once Sachin got out. Tendulkar carried the hopes of billion people on his shoulders. He went on to be called the ultimate master blaster. Favourite Master Sachin Tendulkar Memorable Moment.

A boy wonder who went on to become the master blaster:

Sachin Tendulkar was a boy wonder. He was destined for greatness right since he was a kid. Tendulkar remains the only Indian batsman to score a century on debut in Ranji, Duleep, and Irani trophy. He made his debut at the age of 16. Since then he has vowed cricket fans the world over.

Tendulkar was disappointed that he wasn’t picked for the West Indies tour when he was just a 15-year old. A young Sachin smashed veteran Pakistan spinner, Abdul Qadir, for 4 sixes in an exhibition match.

Tendulkar’s best moments:

It is pretty difficult to pick just a single Master Sachin Tendulkar moment. I had the privilege of listening to Tendulkar’s farewell speech live in the stadium. The desert storm knock is a popular fan favourite. Many remember his debut Test centuries in Australia and England. Cricketing fans dearly remember his epic knock of 136 against Pakistan in Chennai. He was suffering from severe back pain during that match. But he carried on for his country. His World Cup-winning moment in 2011 is another special one. But the one moment for me that stands out is Tendulkar’s knock in the 2003 World Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan.

India had to chase 274 in their final league game against a Pakistani attack featuring Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Abdul Razzaq, and Shahid Afridi. Tendulkar launched into Pakistan right from the first over. His attack left Pakistan speechless. Tendulkar’s uppercut six of Shoaib Akhtar is a legendary moment in cricket history. Sachin scored 98 off just 75 balls was one of the best ODI innings of all time. Indian fans rejoiced that day and even after 18 years continue to celebrate with great joy.
