INDIA vs WEST INDIES: Fans Unhappy With BCCI For Leaving Sanju Samson Out

The Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson made it to the Team India squad in place of Shikhar Dhawan. The second T-20I match between India and West Indies was in Thiruvanathapuram, the home ground for Sanju Samson. The Men in Blue decided to go with an unchanged squad in this match as well.

When Dhawan’s injury made a way for Sanju Samson to make a comeback, the local fans hoped to see him in the Indian jersey. Sanju Samson was the talk of the town in the last month. After sizzling with the bat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he was picked in the team for the Bangladesh series. However, he was never picked in the XI, and with India losing the first match, the hosts didn’t have the luxury to test the bench. Samson carried the drinks for the entire series and the fans were furious over the same.

There was a buzz around Sanju Samson getting a chance ahead of the game even as the crowd welcomed him with a roar before the match. When the BCCI posted the video of the same on its official Instagram handle, it looked like Samson was finally getting his opportunity. But all the hopes were dashed when Virat Kohli cleared at the toss that they were fielding the same XI.

India, which was leading 1-0 in the three-match series, would love to seal the series here and then give a chance to their fringe players. Hopefully, Samson gets a chance in the last match even as Twitter is livid with their favorite players not getting an opportunity. As far as the match is concerned, West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl and will be hoping to restrict India to a low total.
