England Vs Pakistan Live Cricket Score 3rd Test Day 2:England Continues To March On

Welcome to the complete updates of 3rd Test match of England vs Pakistan at Rose Bowl in Southampton:

Zak Crawley’s Ton Makes It England’s Day:

The first day of the final test could not have gone any better for England, nor could it have gone any worse for Pakistan. Zak Crawley scored an undefeated 171, his maiden Test Century, and Jos Buttler scored an undefeated 87, as England finished the day on 332/4, and Pakistan sunk without trace.

It wasn’t enough that Crawley finished the day unaffected by 171 out of 269 deliveries. It was all about his innings — his poise and intent, his stroke-play and shot-selection, and his late pace that made Buttler shade — that foretelled a distinguished career. There were other interesting features, such as the ability to adjust the speed of scores based on bowling and matching circumstances. At one level, he didn’t score 27 balls, at another point, he scored 40 out of 27.

Day 2 Begins Under Blue Skies:

The players are expected to start on Day 2. Michael Atherton and Shane Warne are in the comm box. Crawley and Buttler are heading out to the west. They ‘re going to continue their 205-run stand. Why they changed the day with their attacking partnership yesterday. Where are the teams going to go today? Shaheen Afridi bowls are the first over, buttler hands.

Maidens To Start Off:

Afridi starts over with a maiden. Yet all of these six balls are shot wide outside of the stump. Shaheen, and probably all Pakistani pacemakers (as will be seen in the next few overs) stick to their wide outside of the stump line to start Day 2 as well. Waiting for the batsmen to make a mistake rather than to force something. Abbas is the partner of Shaheen with the ball. And he’s going to bowl a maiden to continue as well. 2 overs without runs. ENG 332/4 after 92.

Rain Stops Play:

And after 5.4 o’clock in the day, rain comes down again in Southampton. Only 4 runs added by England before they reached the pavilion. In reality, the weather forecast for the day looks good, let’s hope it’s nothing more than a passing storm. EN 336/4 after 95.4.

Rain Stops – Inspection At 4:40 IST:

There are still covers in place. Yet when the drizzle had ended, the field workers were on the field, mopping up the puddles. This 3rd test has a much better weather forecast than the 2nd test that was washed out.

Play To Start At 5:10 PM IST:

The umpires are in the middle of it. Strong sunlight has prevailed for now. So there’s a decision in. Click to get started at 5:10 pm IST. Lunch was pushed back to 6:30 p.m. IST.

Resumption:

Abbas’s resuming as the action restarts. It’s Crawley to face. Abbas takes a chance right away. Crawley ‘s got a bat pad that’s looping around, but Pakistan doesn’t have anyone in a catching role.

Rain Halts Play Again!

Another stop to rain! There’s a cloud explosion again. Finally, the players are running backwards and the covers are going down. England scored 4 runs in two play periods of a total of 8 overs. So far, a disappointing day of cricket.

Restart:

And we’re moving again. Shaheen is beginning a new one. Buttler ‘s head. A little movement in the breeze. Crawley, at the end of the day, yet to add to his overnight score so far.

Buttler Given OUT on 99 – Survives:

Buttler has given Caught back. He’s checking. And there’s a breath of relief that washes over Britain. A large distance between the bat and the ball, says the third arbiter. ‘Thank you for the DRS,’ says Atherton.

100 For Buttler:

Buttler ‘s going to get to his 100 with a punch through the heart. It’s the second test century. The first 100 of them as a wicketkeeper batsman. It was his first vs. Pakistan. It had an total of 53 tests this summer. EN 356/4 after 103.

End of 1st session – England 373/4:

Another tight one from Abbas, who has been holding one end for the length of this shortened morning session, is holding another tight one to end the morning session. England on 373/4, Crawley on 186, Buttler, having pushed his score more quickly, on 113. In the morning session, 18 overs bowled. 41 runs scored by this pair in those overs, and their marathon partnership is now worth 246.

250 Runs For The Partnership – Yasir Shah Brought On:

The 250th round of the partnership arrives with four from Crawley, who scores the first boundary of the session with an quick push through the covers. How effortless Crawley has made the fight look like in this match! Moves back to his 190s with that. And Pakistan is taking Yasir Shah on for the first time of the day. Naseem Shah keeps bowling a teasing side, Buttler’s unsure of one. EN 380/4 after 111.

England’s Highest Ever 5th Wicket Partnership:

A few more singles carry the stand of this pair past 254. The top 5th wicket partnership in Test Cricket for England, ever. Beats a record set by Keith Fletcher and Tony Greig in 1973. Meanwhile, only two English batsmen younger than Crawley had higher scores than his 193*. Len Hutton’s 364 vs. Australia, which mark is out of doubt, and David Gower’s 200 * vs. India, which mark is not far away. EN 382/4 after 112.

Partnership Worth 349:

Crawley is also hitting specialist bowlers rather than part-timers, as Pakistan is pushing Asad Shafiq’s spin. Cuts Abbas to four with strength. Defends the Shafiq. Buttler, unexpectedly, is happy to play a more defensive role. ENG 476/4 after 130.

Crawley Stumped Out:

Crawley, after a few failed attempts, beats the Asad Shafiq back to perfection. Shaheen bowls are closer than Pakistan continues with a part timer at one end and a separate bowler at the other. So it’s a fraction of the time that happens! Get the Crawley! Crawley is stumped down the side of the leg. He’s going to fall 267 off 393 shots. EN 486/5.

Tea – ENG 490/5:

Buttler and Woakes are heading back to the Pavilion at the break, both teams are able to spread out the overs and make sure they will go early. England is 490/5 after 136 overs. Buttler on the 140th. How much longer is it until England declares? There’s a rain forecast for Day 5 that’s sure to play Root ‘s mind.

500 In An Innings After More Than 3 Years For England:

Woakes is still the aggressor. Get a four of them with a top edge against Shaheen that runs over the keeper’s head. It is the first time in more than three years that England has picked up 500 in the Test Innings. EN 513/5 after 140.

150 For Buttler:

Pakistan appears to be part-time. Now is the time for Fawad Alam. Yet Buttler yet Woakes are also milking the field for racing. Buttler rises to a career-best ranking of 145 * in the first division. And matter-of-factly, he’s rolling through the covers in the next to pick up his 150. After the morning session, this is his first boundary in a long time. 530/5 in England after 144.

Buttler Is OUT:

Buttler has been caught and bowled by Fawad Alam. Another part-timer takes up a large pot. Buttler slips to 152, his highest score ever, in any format. EN 530/6.

Game Slows Down:

Bess leaves the Woakes, and Pakistan continues to be part-time. The bite has gone out of the game a little, Shane Warne says on the radio. Root saw the spikes of his boots clean in the dressing room. We ‘re probably not far away from a declaration now. This would be a good hour or so of constant pressure for Pakistan if they were sent in now. EN 541/6 after 147.2.

Woakes Out For 40 – Fawad Alam’s 2nd Wicket:

A long drink break is taken when Rizwan is hit by a wayward throw on his side. Woakes is pushing Yasir for four to finish 148th. Root was seen in his whites in the dressing room. Perhaps 550 is the target he’s been waiting for. Fawad Alam bowls the 149th, and he’s going to get another wicket! Woakes is out to be 40. England 7 down to 547.

England Cross 550:

Wide is coming out at 9. He had a little rebirth as a low order pinch hitter this summer. Is almost out for the first ball duck though, but the outer edge lands short of slip. Yasir Shah, having scored more than 150 runs in this inning, continues from the other end. Bess brings up the 550 of England with the last four blasted points. EN 551/7 after 150.

13 Runs In One Over As Bess Joins Attack:

Bess is going to get into the act now. Four of them smashed off the foot and six hocked to the side of the leg off Yasir, sending England past 580. Some consternation from the comm box as to why Root has not yet announced. The target must be 600, and it must be sent to Pakistan for 10 or so overs. Broad and Bess are taking England up to 600 in blinding level. EN 582/7 after 154.

England Declare On 583/8:

Shaheen Afridi returns to the assault as he waits for the declaration to begin. So he’s going to get a wicket. Okay, Broad is bowled. Yesterday, Shaheen got Pakistan off to a rolling start with Burns’s wicket. There’s been a lot going on between that time and his second wicket. EN 583/8.

England’s Highest Total Since 2016:

583/8, This is England’s highest total since the 2016 Old Trafford Test against Pakistan. Pakistan officially has a maximum of 13 rounds to fight for Stumps on Day 2. Game to restart after a brief break.

Pakistan Innings Begins:

Abid Ali and Shan Masood are heading out to the center of Pakistan. James Anderson, on 593 test wickets, starts in England. Four slips in place as we begin what could be a tough couple of minutes for Pakistan. Anderson has held the wicket of Masood seven times. Has a bowling average of less than five against him. PAK 3-0 after 1 o’clock.

Masood Given Out LBW But Survives:

And that’s Pakistan’s first fear in the innings. Stuart Broad refers to LBW against Masood and the ombudsman lifts his finger rapidly. The Mazood Comments. Saved by the DRS, which reveals that he was hit outside. PAK 5-0 after 2.

Third Wicket – Babar Falls:

Anderson, the man of the moment for England! Get the third wicket in the innings. His scalp check number 596. Babar Azam will crash for 11. And Pakistan’s innings are in tatters. PAK 24/3 over 10.5.

Masood Given Out Lbw Again:

Masood gave Lbw back. This time, Anderson the bowler. And it feels a lot better. And this time, DRS reveals three reds. Anderson manages to dominate Masood. Anderson ‘s trying to get him out for the 8th time. The 594th test wicket. Azhar Ali had to quit at 3 a lot sooner than he would have liked to do. PAK 6/1 ater 3 ater 3.

2nd Wicket For Anderson:

Wicket No. 595, James Anderson. This time, Abid Ali falls. Captured in the slips for 1. Pakistan has lost both of its opportunities cheaply. A disastrous start to their first innings. Babar Azam is coming in at 4 to join Azhar Ali. And Babar has fired four times against Anderson, taking up the first boundary of the innings. PAK 17/2 to 5.

Babar First Pakistan Batsman To Get Into Double Digits:

Archer slices Babar in half with a nip-backer out of hell. Archer is going to get some big movement in the air. Babar even seemed to have lost sight of the ball a few times in the past. The Vigorous Batsmen Test at Archer’s First Over. Anderson keeps going to the other end. There are 4 more overs left in the day. Babar Azam is the first Pakistani batsman to get into double digits. .PAK 23/2 after 9.

End of Day 2 – Pakistan 24/3, Trail England By 559 Runs:

And that’s the highlight of Day 2. Babar Azam doesn’t check, he’s out of the last ball of the day. What a day on the field for England. It was first that Crawley-Buttler had a record-breaking partnership, and it was Anderson’s three-way burst at the end of the day that ended their dominance in this 3rd test.
