ECB Declares Full Fixtures For Pakistan Tour Of England

ECB is the first cricket board to resume the sport:

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is becoming the first cricket board all over the world to return to the sports. For the coronavirus, the cricket was stopped for the last four months. After the long break, finally, the ECB is trying very hard to bring back cricket to normal conditions.

From 8th July, West Indies and England lock their horns in the 1st Test match in Southampton. The three-Test match is a memorable match as it would be the first international match without any audience.

Although the England board is resuming cricket, the board authorities are taking proper care and following guidelines imposed by the ICC to ensure the safety of players as well as staff members. As a result, Old Trafford and Ageas Bowl are chosen to host the games considering that they have many on-site hotels that help to build a biosecure environment.

After the match against West Indies, in the month of July, England is also planning to play against Pakistan and Ireland. On Monday, ECB decided the dates and venues to host the Pakistan team for a three-match T20I and three-match Test series.

The Pakistan tour to England will start with the first Test match on 5th August at Old Trafford. After that other two Test matches will be held at Ageas Bowl from 13th August and 21st August. Also, after the Test match, the T20I series will be carried out at Old Trafford on August 28, 30, and 1st September.

Cricket is now ready to resume: Tom Harrison

Chief Executive of ECB, Tom Harrison has given confirmation on the dates and venues of Pakistan and Ireland series. Harrison quoted “Conforming dates of Pakistan and Ireland series is another important step in the path of resuming cricket in this critical situation as we have arranged all the things with proper precautions.”
