Dravid Address The Fatigue Issues, To Assess Workload Of Players

In Indian cricket, the Rahul Dravid era is about to begin, and it will be fascinating to observe how the renowned batsman performs as a head coach. He succeeded Ravi Shastri, whose stint came to an end with India’s defeat in the T20 World Cup 2021. Dravid will now be responsible for grooming the Men in Blue and guiding them to excellence.

According to the reports, Dravid’s main priority is to address player tiredness (fatigue). Since the discovery of the COVID-19 viral infection, professional leagues and competitions have been held inside bio-secure bubbles in which players must agree to restrictive rules. Several players have experienced emotional and physical exhaustion as a result of not being allowed to leave a specific location, and many have voiced their concerns.

Rahul Dravid raised the problem with the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC)

Currently, selectors have the majority of the power in selecting, releasing, or resting players. Therefore, even before selectors declare their 15-man team, Dravid will decide on the names of the resting players. Interestingly, the majority of the players on India’s T20 World Cup lineup have played regular cricket. Many notable figures appeared to be out of touch.

As a result, Dravid is eager to address the fatigue issue as quickly as possible. According to the reports, the former Indian skipper raised the problem with the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) when he applied for the position of head coach. Dravid and Jay Shah the BCCI secretary, are now preparing to rotate players based on their efforts.

The BCCI would make this big step in order to avoid a repeat of this situation. “The BCCI will decide on which player needs to be rested depending on how much cricket is being played. We are aware of the fatigue issue. The player who has been rested will get his place back in the team even if the replacement does well,” a BCCI official

The home series versus New Zealand will be Dravid’s inaugural task as India’s full-time head coach. Many first-choice players have indeed been resting for the 3-match series, including Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Virat Kohli, and it will be exciting to observe how the turnover is handled in future endeavors.
