India’s warm-up game is against a County Select XI at Chester-le-Street in Durham. “The visitors will use the venue as a home venue for their preparations this summer. The three-day game will see a number of players from the county circuit feature as they go up against the Indian national side,” a release from Durham cricket mentioned on Wednesday, July 14.

“We obviously wanted first-class games, which I believe have not been given to us. I don’t know what the reasons for that are. But yeah, other than that, I think our preparation time will be ample for us to be ready for the first Test,” Virat had said in the post-match press conference.

India’s England Test Series will begin the opening Test at Trent Bridg in Nottingham on August 4.
