Dismissals By Bangladesh Batsmen In The First ODI Against Sri Lanka Were “Very Poor”: Nazmul Hassan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president, Nazmul Hassan Papon, criticized the Bangladesh batsmen for their poor shot selection in the ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday, May 23. Mirpur. Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah all scored half-centuries at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Stay with us to know Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka ODI.

Mushfiqur was named Player of the Match after his 84 off 87 balls, which included four fours and one six. Papon, on the other hand, believes that Bangladesh’s batters gave away their wickets and that the hosts’ batsmen should have avoided making rash strokes.

At the moment, it was unnecessary to play such shots: Nazmul Hassan

The BCB is analyzing what is going on and why it is happening. It makes no difference whether you win or lose today. How many good balls or fielding plays did it take to get us out? Was our shot selection correct? If this is their shot selection, it’s unnecessary to bring in a good coach.

“We will talk about the coach later. First, we have to sit with the players to find out their mentality. Some of the dismissals were very ugly. There was no need to play those shots in that situation,” Papon was quoted as saying during the innings break, reported ESPNcricinfo.

It is necessary to have good communication with the players: Papon

Hasan answered the statement by saying that Liton Das, Mohammad Mithun, and Soumya Sarkar are all capable of scoring runs at the highest average. The BCB president mentioned that it is necessary to have good communication with the players.

“Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, and Mohammad Mithun are capable players. People go through bad times. We will have to talk to the players and coaches. I can’t just take a sweeping decision from the top. It will become negative,” he added.

Liton and Mithun both were unable to open their accounts on Sunday, and have been criticized for their inconsistent performances. After having his eyes in, Shakib Al Hasan gave his wicket to part-time Danushka Gunathilaka.

They won the game by 33 runs and took a crucial 1-0 lead in the three-match series despite the dismissals. Mehidy Hasan Miraz added a four-wicket haul and two maidens to the team. The second ODI will be held in Dhaka on Tuesday, May 25.
