Consequently, India needed only 45 minutes to finish the procedures on the fourth day of the 2nd Test match. On Day 4, India required only 5 wickets to win, and Virat Kohli & team did so in spectacular, thrashing the New Zealand team by 372 runs.
After restarting the day at 140/5, the NZ lost their last five wickets for a total of 27 runs. So it was the spinning combo of Ravichandran Ashwin & Jayant Yadav who finished the deal for the hosts. Both spinners took 8 wickets each, as Kiwis were absolutely outplayed.
Rachin Ravindra was the 1st batsman to strike on Day 4, as Jayant Yadav grabbed his wicket. Ravindra’s wicket sparked a rise of wickets, as New Zealand were dropped to 167 all out.
Ajaz Patel set a record by being the third bowler in Test history to take all ten wickets in a single inning. Despite taking 10 wickets in the first innings, Patel took 4 wickets in the 2nd innings to conclude the game with a match-high 14 wickets.

Aside from Patel, Mayank Agarwal will remember this game favorably as well. Whereas the opener struck a magnificent 150 in the first innings, he backed it up with a brilliant 62 in the 2nd.
While, this is a competition that Ross Taylor would try to ignore, as the Kiwi icon scored just 20 runs in his four innings, and William Somerville must overlook this series, as he struggled to take a single wicket in the two-match series.
