Nominates Kohli And Other Cricketers To Accept The Challenge
Australian hard-hitting opening batsman David Warner has come up with a new way to show solidarity with the people who are at the frontlines of defense in the battle against the coronavirus, the healthcare professionals.
The left-handed batsman shaved his head to thank the medical and paramedical professionals, who are putting their lives at risk to save people uniquely.
He posted the video where he is seen shaving his head on his Instagram. He wrote a caption to the video which read,” “Been nominated to shave my head in support of those working on the frontline #COVID-19 here is a time-lapse. I think my debut was the last time I recall I’ve done this. Like it or not,”.
He also posted another picture on the social networking site with cropped short hair. He also nominated cricketers like Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Pat Cummins, Marcus Stoinis, and English right-wing T.V. host Piers Morgan among others, to accept the challenge and shave their heads to show support to those fighting bravely against the virus to save the lives of others.
Australia’s death toll due to COVID-19 is 19 at present, according to reports in leading Australian media. More than 4000 people have been confirmed positive for the virus in the country.
Will Other Players Accept The Challenge?
We have to see if the players nominated by Warner, including Kohli, accept the challenge and shave their heads.
Australian players are resting in their homes at present. They would have been playing IPL now after their New Zealand tour, if not for the corona outbreak. The pandemic has brought the world of cricket to a standstill.
IPL, which was supposed to start on Sunday, has been pushed to April 15th. With India under 21-day lockdown, which ends on April 15th and the spreading of corona still at alarming levels, the occurrence of the mega tournament seems highly unlikely.
There are recent reports that BCCI is planning to hold the IPL this year during August and September.
