David Warner Gifts His Gloves To A Young Fan; Wins Hearts With His Gesture

Australian left-handed opening batsman and former Australia vice-captain David Warner surprised a young fan with his heartwarming gesture at the Adelaide Oval. His birthday was on the 27 October. A kid who was standing in the spectators’ stands got a gift from him.

The Aussie opener scored his first T20I century and for his outstanding knock was named the Man of the Match. Australia would have heaved a sigh of relief as its opener returned to its best after a torrid time at the Ashes. In the first T20I vs SL, he scored 100* in 56 balls.

A heartwarming gesture from David Warner

The incident took place when David Warner returned to the pavilion after concluding the pre-warm-up session ahead of the first T20 at the Adelaide Oval. In a snack-tub held by a young kid in the stands, the left-handed Aussie opener casually dropped his batting gloves. This left the young boy pleasantly surprised.

Following the Australian cricketer’s sweet gesture, an on-field cameraman captured the incident. In the video, the cameraman also asked the kid who gave him the gloves. The boy said “David Warner” in response to it and looked very pleased.

Cricket Australia (CA) later shared the video with David Warner on their Twitter handle, “These young fellas won’t ever forget their trip to the cricket today. All class from @davidwarner31 #AUSvSL.”

The islanders’ top scorer was Dasun Shanaka with 17 runs.

The hosts were leading 1-0 in the three-match T20I series, and the second game will be played on October 30 at the Gabba.
