CSA Assigns Williams As Acting President, Interim CEO Faul Resigns

Beresford Williams will work as CSA’s acting president:

On Tuesday (18-08-2020), Cricket South Africa (CSA) appoints Beresford Williams as their acting president. Along with this, they also confirmed that Faul has resigned from his post of interim Chief Executive Officer of CSA. All these decisions are taken after Chris Nenzani stepped down as CSA president on 15th August.

Until the annual general meeting of the board,  Beresford Williams will work as CSA president, which is scheduled for 5th September. As per the reports, for over 25 years, Williams has been working as an administrator and also was the president of the Western Province Cricket Association before involving with Cricket South Africa.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) Statement:

In a statement, CSA said, “The  CSA  has declared that Williams will work as acting president of the board until the AGM ready for September 5, 2020.”

According to the statement, Faul, whose working tenure as CEO was due to conclude on 15th September, has stepped down. In the month of December, he was appointed after CSA had suspended it’s then CEO Thabang Moroe in the misconduct allegations.

The statement read “The CSA advises that Dr. Jacques Faul, the acting chief executive officer has taken the decision to end his secondment with immediate effect, which was scheduled to be ended on September 15, 2020.”

“Dr. Jacques Faul has provided a complete intermediary plan that will help CSA to make a flawless transition to a new Acting CEO, that the CSA will advise after a little time. CSA is grateful forever for the amazing support and commitment that Faul has made and continues to build CSA and the cricket.”

Now Cricket South Africa is in a condition of confusion after so many high-profile removals. As per the report, Nenzani, who worked for seven-years that was blemished by corruption allegation, stepped down hours later CSA dismissed its COO Nassei Appiah.
