Cricketing Schedule In Doldrums After Coronavirus Outbreak

Cricket is one of the most affected sports due to coronavirus pandemic. Every international and domestic match has been suspended as a precautionary measure. As things stand, cricket stands at the moment. Even more terrifying and worrying is that the pandemic may last several months.

In such a scenario, cricket resumption is next to impossible, to begin with. There is nothing we can do except get out of the way, pray, and hope for the best. So as the cricket world is looking forward to the start of the game resumption, we are considering the international fiasco of the epidemic.

List of fixtures which might be affected if no cricket played in 2020

The ongoing World Test Championship began in August last year and will last until June 2021, according to the original schedule. The tournament began shortly after the end of the 50-over World Cup.

By its format, the first nine Test-playing nations are participating. The final will be played between the first two teams on the table at Lord’s in June 2021.

The series has a maximum of 120 points for each round. If things stand, all teams can play their six sets before June 2021.

If cricket is not played in 2020, the following series could be affected

March – Sri Lanka v England – two Tests (Already postponed)

June – England v West Indies – three Tests

July-August – England v Pakistan – three Tests

July – West Indies v South Africa – two Tests

July – Bangladesh v Sri Lanka – three Tests

August – Bangladesh v New Zealand – two Tests

November – December: New Zealand v West Indies – three Tests

December -January (2021): Australia v India – four Tests

December -January (2021): New Zealand v Pakistan – two Tests
