Cricketers React To Sourav Ganguly Getting Hospitalized

Former India cricket captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly have been admitted to Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata on Saturday, after he complained of chest pain, as per the reports which appeared in news agencies, PTI and ANI. Sourav Ganguly was in the nick of things this year as he oversaw the transition of IPL from India to the UAE. Cricket lovers across the world thanked Ganguly for the seamless conduct of IPL 2020. He was also lauded for working with Cricket Australia (CA) to ensure that India’s tour of Australia goes on without any hiccup.

A source close to the former India skipper while speaking to ANI was quoted saying that Ganguly complained of pain in the chest and he might need angioplasty. The source went on to add that, “Dada(Sourav) complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital. He might need to undergo angioplasty. He is out of danger.”

The BCCI president visited Eden Gardens on Wednesday and discussed preparations for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Avishek Dalmiya. Ganguly’s visit to the governor’s residence had created an air of speculation about his participation in politics. He dismissed the notion of him joining politics ahead of West Bengal Assembly polls next year. Ganguly had stated that he went to meet the state’s Governor upon invitation.

Cricketers React to Sourav Ganguly’s Hospitalisation

Many cricketers, former and present have reacted to Ganguly’s hospitalization. The current Indian skipper, Virat Kohli tweeted saying praying for his speedy recovery.

While stand-in Test captain, Ajinkya Rahane wished Ganguly a speedy recovery and prayed that he recovers soon.

Woman cricketing legend, Mithali Raj wished the BCCI president a speedy recovery.

Manoj Tiwary, the Bengal cricketer got emotional in his tweet as he mentioned that this wasn’t the news he wanted to start his year with. He went on to say that Ganguly has been a true fighter always.

Wishes for Ganguly came from across the border too as Waqar Younis tweeted saying, Ganguly, you are a strong individual, sending prayers for a quick recovery.

Former Indian Cricketer and now BJP MP, Gautam Gambhir extended his support for Ganguly.

Former Indian left-arm spinner, Pragyan Ojha too tweeted wishing Ganguly a quick recovery.
