Cricket Australia Announces India Tour Itinerary And We Honestly Cannot Wait

The much talked about India’s tour of Australia receives another shot in the arm with Cricket Australia announcing the Itinerary for the multi-format tour.

The Indian team will be arriving in Australia at Sydney on November 12 after the conclusion of the IPL currently being held in UAE. They would be undergoing a 14-day quarantine. Thankfully, the New South Wales government has allowed the team to train during the quarantine without any cap on the number of members who can train together.

The tour kickoffs with 3 ODIs, followed by 3 T20’s and culminates with 4 blockbuster Test Matches.

India kick start their playing the first two ODIs at Sydney (November 27 and 29), followed by 3rd ODI at Manuka Oval, Canberra (December 2) which also plays host to the first T20 game (December 4) followed by other T20’s to be held at Sydney (December 6 and 8)

While the high profile test series starts with the day-night pink ball test match at Adelaide (17th-21st December) followed by the iconic boxing day match at Melbourne (26th-30th December). The new year test match would be played at Sydney (7th-11th January) and the final test match would be played at the Gabba, Brisbane (15th-19th January)

Two 3-day practice matches have been lined up before the test series, with the first one scheduled to begin at 6th (6th-8th December) thereby clashing with the 2 T20’s held at the same time. A lot of test regulars are expected to turn up for India A during the first warm-up game. While the second warm game would be a day-night practice test match between India and Australia A. (11th-13th December)

This tour is expected to grab a lot of eyeballs during its entire course and we can surely expect a firecracker of a series between two proud cricketing nations.

Practice Matches:

1st, Dec 6-8: Drummoyne Oval, Sydney
2nd, Dec 11-13 (D/N): Sydney Cricket Ground

Test Matches:

1st Test, Dec 17-21 (D/N): Adelaide Oval
2nd Test, Dec 26-30: Melbourne Cricket Ground
3rd Test, Jan 7-11: Sydney Cricket Ground
4th Test, Jan 15-19: Gabba, Brisbane
