Before the beginning of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL ) 2020, the Jamaica Tallawahs had already faced a difficult time when West Indies star player Chris Gayle charged the management, especially director Ramnaresh Sarwan for not treating him well. Because of this also, he left his home franchise and joined St Lucia Zouks.
However, Chris Gayle had withdrawn his participation from the 2020 CPL later itself. The Jamaica Tallawahs have already won the champions title twice in 2013 and in 2016. From 2013, they came at fourth and third places four times and in 2019 CPL, they came at the last position at the points table with eight loss and two wins. Despite all these, can they come back? Stupsandbails is focused on their previous performances and come with detailed analysis.
So, let’s have a look at those.
1. Strength
Jamaica Tallawahs remains the only team to play with 11 local players in a game but after that, they have changed their strategy and started to include outside talented players in the team.
They have included Tabrez Shamsi of South Africa, leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane of Nepal to strengthen their bowling. Also, they include Caribbean talents like Carlos Brathwaite, Andre Russell, Jermaine Blackwood, Rovman Powell, who led the team in the last season, Chadwick Walton, who took the responsibility of wicket-keeping, pacer Oshane Thomas, etc.

Weakness
The Jamaica Tallawahs heavily depend upon Brathwaite and Russell in the batting department and on Lamichhane and Shamsi in the bowling department. The rest of the players are not that impactful. In case these big names were withdrawn from the team, then Jamaicans would face a very difficult time in the 2020 CPL.

Prediction
In CPL 2020, a top-four finish should be their main goal but even that would be difficult.
