Chetan Sharma Relives Hilarious Moments From The Past Of His Cricket Career

Chetan Sharma’s Hilarious Moment From The Past:

On Saturday, former India fast-bowler Chetan Sharma revealed a hilarious incident from his first-ever test series against Pakistan. The coronavirus pandemic brought the entire world to a halt and cricket was not spared either. Cricket game around the world in the context of the coronavirus pandemic has been suspended.

Chetan Sharma did a live session on Saturday and spoke about his illustrious career. Having made his debut at the early age of 17, Chetan Sharma tried to prove that his critics were wrong because of his height, who had written him off.

He has played almost 100 international games across formats for India. Throughout his decade-long international career he gave a number of unforgettable memories to the Indian fans. He took 16 wickets in two tests on the England tour in 1986, including the first ten-wicket haul in that country by an Indian bowler.

He was the first Indian to take a hat-trick in ODIs in the following year, and also the first overall to take it in a World Cup. During the 1987 World Cup must-win clash, he dismissed Ken Rutherford, Ian Smith and Ewen Chatfield from New Zealand, and helped India reach the semifinal where they lost to England.

Chetan Sharma recalled his first-ever Test series that was in Pakistan during the live session. He remembered how the atmosphere was energetic for the Lahore First Test and couldn’t ask for a better launch. He ousted Mohsin Khan in his very first over.

Things then got better for him as he dismissed Pakistan’s batting mainstay Javed Miandad and what happened was utterly hilarious afterwards. Chetan Sharma recalled that, with a short delivery, he shocked Miandad and the latter was completely clueless.

While playing the shot Miandad closed his eyes and edged the ball to a short leg. Chetan Sharma also recalled that Miandad, who stammers, was not at all pleased with his dismissal and left the field while murmuring: “patthal maala patthal mala (Patthar mara, pathhar mara).”

Chetan Sharma rubbed more salt on Miandad’s wounds by saying: “Pathhal thodi mala, ball dala”.
