BCCI To Shut Down Office, The Staff Told To Work From Home

If Someone Wants To Come, They Can – BCCI:

The COVID-19 impacted to shut down the BCCI. The headquarters of BCCI in Mumbai has shut from Tuesday with its employees ordered to work from home.

The employees have asked to “Work from home” because all the cricket matches have already postponed until further notice.

“The BCCI employees were announced yesterday that the headquarters at the Wankhede Stadium would shut down due to COVID-19. All members of the staff have told to work from home. However, if someone still wants to come, they can come to the office,” a top official of the BCCI on the situation of anonymity.

The BCCI has already postponed the IPL 2020 till April 15, along with all other domestic tournaments. Even the Irani Cup 2020 and women’s Challenger Trophy also postponed. Worldwise sports have canceled due to the coronavirus.

India has so far reported 128 positive cases with three deaths till now. The global death toll has crossed 7000, and the number of infected is 182725 and 79883 have recovered.

Many Companies Are Encouraging The Employees To Work From Home:

In India, as well as on the international level, many companies are encouraging the employees to work from home. The BCCI is following the same way.

The IPL franchises have also canceled their pretournament practice with Royal Challengers Bangalore. “Keeping in mind the health and safety of everyone involved, the RCB Training Camp scheduled to start on March 21 has been deferred until further notice. We request everyone to follow the guidelines provided by the Health Ministry and stay safe.” RCB tweeted.

The IPL franchises had conducted a meeting to search the possibilities among themselves. On Saturday, they had a meeting with the BCCI executives in Mumbai.

The IPL had already postponed to April 15. The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly hinted that one of the options could be a “truncated IPL,” but only if the situation improves by April 15.
