Hosting an International event gives a huge boost for the home team and also the good infrastructure of the stadium can be used well for the occasion. Hosts are decided in the bidding process for every FTP cycle.

It has been come to know that BCCI will bid for the cycle of ICC events as one Champions Trophy, a T20 World Cup and a 50-over World Cup.

“Yes, we would be bidding for the 2025 Champions Trophy along with the 2028 T20 World Cup and the 2031 50-over World Cup. The Apex Council has agreed on this, in principle,” a senior office-bearer told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

As, India is going to host the 2023 Cricket World Cup and with few bids successful, the country has a great chance to host and win few trophies.

The ICC has stated that the Champions Trophy, which was last played in England in 2017, will be returned in the next FTP cycle, and India has chosen to bid for it appropriately.

India Should Be Capable Of Hosting World Event Every 2 Or 3 Years, Says Official

“The Champions Trophy is a short tournament but is an immensely popular one. It was only fair that after the 2023 World Cup in India, we bid for the 2025 Champions Trophy. India should be in a position to host a global event every two to three years and hence we are bidding for three events,” the official said.
