BCCI Sends A Message To Fans Under The Threat Of COVID-19

The BCCI sent out a message for fans in between the coronavirus crisis that has grasped the entire globe. As of now, the Coronavirus has killed over 7000 people and 175000 people infected throughout the world. The pandemic has destroyed the worldwide sporting calendar. Otherwise, several multi-national sporting events have scheduled to take place.

The cricket tournaments around the world have been postponed. Amid all these situations, BCCI sent out a positive message for the fans to keep them in high spirits.

ODI opening batsman Prithvi Shaw and middle-order batsman Manish Pandey were pictured smiling along with batting coach Vikram Rathour and fielding coach R Sridhar. This old picture from a training session had a message along with “Keep up the smiles.”

Indian cricket schedule has destroyed by the pandemic as the South Africa tour of India for the ODI series has postponed. The first match of the ODI series of the three matches series has canceled due to rain in Dharamsala. The remaining matches have rescheduled due to Coronavirus.

Not only that, but the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 13th edition has pushed from March 29 onwards to April 15. The decision of the cricket board preceded the Government’s actions, including visa suspension. Most state governments have restricted public meetings, including sporting events.

Australian Players May Miss The Event Because Of Coronavirus Pandemic

All the teams have called off pre-tournament camps until further notice with IPL postponed. Royal Challengers Bangalore postponed their training camp and scheduled to start on March 21. Chennai Super Kings have stopped their activities and Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders suspended their practice matches.

Australian players could be blocked from competing in the IPL 2020 according to the latest media reports by Cricket Australia. This comes after Cricket Australia confirmed on Tuesday morning that the Sheffield Shield final for 2019-20 had been scrapped and New South Wales have been declared champions. Cricket Australia is reviewing whether Aussie players should be allowed to take part in the IPL or The Hundred Series in the UK following the Coronavirus pandemic.
