BCCI Postpones AGM Indefinitely

The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) Will Not Conduct An Annual General Meeting Before September 30:

On Friday (September 11), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will not hold an Annual General Meeting before September 30 — as specified by the rules and regulations of BCCI, Jay Shah — undersigned as BCCI Secretary.

The BCCI is registered under the 1975 Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act.’ Due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, in its press release no. 557 of 29 July 2020, the Registration Department, Tamil Nadu Government extended the time for a registered company under the 1975 Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act to hold a three-month Annual General Meeting, from September 2020 to December 2020,” Shah wrote in an email, accessed by a leading sports website.

“The Press Release further states that an Annual General Meeting of a registered society cannot be conducted online.”

BCCI ‘s previous AGM took place on 1 December 2019 — shortly after the new regime
took over the administration of BCCI ‘s affairs from the Administrators’ Committee under Sourav Ganguly‘s presidentship.
