BBL: England Pacer Chris Jordan Signed By Perth Scorchers

For the upcoming season of the Big Bash League (BBL), Perth Scorchers have signed Chris Jordan who is a well-known England pacer. After the Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder, it will be his third BBL team.

“Playing in the Perth can be quite hostile (as an opposition player) obviously it is a sea of orange and everyone is rooting for the Scorchers,” Jordan said.

“I know from experience when the opposition hit a boundary in the stadium there is no noise, but when the Scorchers are up and about and doing well everyone is backing them to the hills… I’m looking forward to having some of that on my side!”

When we look back in the cricket history of Jordan we find that he had qualified for two countries at a time the West Indies and England. But he chose to play for England and he made his ODI debut in September of 2013 against Australia. He also took his first ODI five-wicket haul against Sri Lanka in 2014.

His signing completes Perth Scorchers ‘roster, which saw Shaun Marsh, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Hilton Cartwright, and Michael Kinger’s retirement departures.
Head coach Adam Voges said: “We’re really excited to have Chris on-board, he’s got great experience in T20 cricket and will do a terrific job with the ball, particularly his skills at the death.

“He also provides the all-round package with athleticism in the field and strong batting skills which will be great for the fans.

“Chris is very professional and will fit in well in the Scorchers set up, I haven’t heard a bad word about him,” he added
