We look at 5 such exciting players this season:
#5 Josh Philippe
Josh Philippe has been widely touted as the next AB de Villiers or Jos Buttler. The kid has talent in abundance. He has had a couple of fantastic BBL seasons too. But he is yet to make that big leap to International cricket. This season might just be the one that he might target to set the record straight.
#4 Mujeeb-ur-Rahman
Mujeeb-ur-Rahman is one of the most exciting talents in world cricket. His experience in the circuit might fool people that he is a veteran. But Rahman is a fairly young player who started quite early. His variations are too good for batsmen at times. He keeps bamboozling batsmen with his skill and guise. Rahman might just use the BBL to present a solid case for himself in the IPL auctions.
#3 Mitchell Swepson
Mitchell Swepson is one of the more underrated players in the BBL. He had a fantastic series against India when the men in blue visited them last year. Swepson has largely remained in the shadows of Adam Zampa. This might just be the season for him to make a name for himself. He will be itching to have a go this season.
#2 Josh Inglis
Josh Inglis is a hard-hitting Australian cricketer. He is more than just an able backup for Tim Paine and Matthew Wade. Inglis is known more for his big-hitting abilities. He strikes at 153 across 55 T20 games. But his name hardly appears in conversation in the mainstream. This season might see him propel to the next level.
#1 Tanveer Sangha
Tanveer Sangha is regarded as the next big thing in Australian cricket. His band of spin bowling is not just hard to score but to even survive. Sangha to his credit has come up the ranks quite stunningly. A good BBL may pave way for him to grab an IPL contract. It could also help him catch the attention of national selectors who are always on the lookout for smart wrist-spinners.
