Russell returns to BBL: Andre Russell, a new addition to the Melbourne Renegades, has arrived in Australia with a warning for T20 cricket supporters saying T10 has the potential to overtake it. Russell, who will play four games with the Renegades to open their BBL- 12 seasons, thinks the growth of T10 cricket poses a challenge to the T20 format’s present dominance.

After playing in the UAE for the Deccan Gladiators in the Abu Dhabi T10 league, the Jamaican travelled to Australia over the weekend through London in preparation for the start of the Renegades season later this week.

BBL Player Update: Andre Russell Comments on his Comeback

He started off by saying “I didn’t really get enough chance to be in the T10 tournament recently. But I know that doesn’t take anything away from my skills and anything I know I can do. It’s just (about) how to bounce back, to do the right things and to stay positive.

He finished off by saying “The T10 league in Abu Dhabi, was a fast-paced game where you just go out and express yourself. So hopefully whatever amount of overs I get to go in, I can maximise that.”
