Avesh Khan’s tour to England is coming to end after he had been ruled out of India’s warm-up first-class match versus County XI in Durham owing to a left-thumb fracture. Khan, who was a holding player, might be out for a long time as a result of the injury, according to a senior BCCI official, and the Indian team management will be without at minimum one fast bowler for the Test series, which begins on 04′ August at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
“Avesh is not likely to take any further part in the series, leave alone this game. It’s a thumb fracture. He will not be bowling for at least a month and after that rehabilitation is likely to start. In another three days, the picture is supposed to get clearer,” the BCCI source said.

The BCCI on Wednesday did not explain the particular cause of the injury but stated: “Fast bowler Avesh Khan remains under the observation of the Medical Team. He will not be taking any further part on Day 2 and Day 3 of the warm-up game.”
On Tuesday, Khan was hurt while delivering the last delivery of his 10th over during the post-lunch sessions when his left thumb reflexively blocked a high-pitched bowler’s back-drive by Hanuma Vihari.
He appeared to be in a lot of discomforts and needed medical attention right away, and one of the commenters on Durham’s YouTube channel speculated that his thumb had dislocated. With 5 Test matches on the line, the 24-year-old has 100 wickets in 26 first-class games and several felt he may have earned his Test debut at some time.
