Australia Women’s Tour Of South Africa Suspended:
Australia tour to South Africa which had the scheduled to play three ODIs and many T20Is matches has been suspended due to coronavirus threat.
The ODI matches were planned to be played on 22nd March in Durban, 25th March in Pietermaritzburg and on 28th March in East London. Later the T20I matches were planned to be played on 31st March in East London and on 3rd & 4th April in Benoni.
Coronavirus Effect:
The global pandemic “coronavirus”, South Africa’s men’s team tour to India also get affected. They have to play in front of empty stands in the last two ODIs.
Cricket Australia said in an interview that the Chappell-Hadlee three-match series began on Friday between the men’s cricket team of New Zealand and Australia, which will be played ahead of empty stands.
This decision will be decided during the three-match T20I tour of New Zealand to Australia. Now, the games are scheduled to play on 24th March in Dunedin, 27th March in Auckland and on 29th March in Christchurch.
The Chief executive of Australia’s Cricket, Kevin Roberts said that all these decisions were taken concerning the health & safety measures of players, staff, match officials and audiences. Also, he added that “We have taken the strong decision today in spite of extraordinal public health problem”.
Impact On India’s Matches:
In India, the central government has advised all sporting authorities to incorporate BCCI to establish sporting events without spectators in an empty stadium. Now, it seems that IPL is also in danger of being affected adversely, which is scheduled to be played from 29th March to 24th May.
