Warner: Sunrisers Hyderabad Winning the IPL My Favourite Moment
Australian dangerous batsman David Warner is active on social media these days as there is no cricket action going on around after Cricket Australia has suspended all the cricket events both domestic and international as well due to the fears of coronavirus.
The left-handed batsman who is under self-isolation revealed that his favourite moment in IPL was when his team Sunrisers Hyderabad won the championships in 2016.
The 33-year-old took to his Instagram and posted a picture of the team when it won the IPL along with the caption that read, “My favourite IPL moment would have to be this for sure. My Indian family @sunrisershyd.”
Warner who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad led the team to its maiden championship win in 2016. He stepped aside as the captain of the team in 2018 after he was found guilty in the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.
Later the same year the Board of Control for Cricket in India did not allow him to take part in IPL 2018.
Warner Returns To SRH Captaincy
He returned to the Hyderabad team in 2019 after serving one year ban and played under Kane Williamson captaincy. In February 2020 the Australian was reinstated as captain replacing Kane Williamson.
Meanwhile, the uncertainty surrounding this year’s Indian Premier League still continues as there has not been any official announcement from BCCI.
The lucrative tournament which was supposed to begin on March 29 was deferred until April 15th as the threat of deadly coronavirus was looming large.
As the threat has not gone away yet the occurrence of the tournament seems unlikely from the revised date as well.
A BCCI source commented that the decision on IPL will only be taken after the situation of coronavirus improves as it is now unclear.
He also did not give any assurance about foreign players’ participation saying that we have to wait until situation becomes clear.
