PAK vs NEP Who Will Win?
The 16th edition of the Asia Cup will kickstart on August 30. It will be Pakistan who will take on Nepal in the first game of the tournament. Pakistan swept aside Afghanistan in the 3-match ODI series climbing up to the top of the charts. They were the runners-up in the previous edition of the tournament albeit it was played in the T20 format last year. The two time Asia Cup champions have flattered to deceive many a times in the tournament. They will look to put aside history when they step into the tournaments in which they are the strongest contenders.
Nepal on the other hand are a complete novice. They will be featuring in their first-ever Asia Cup. Nepal qualified for this tournament thanks to their win in the 2023 ACC Men’s Premier Cup. Despite boasting a strong fanbase it will be an uphill task for them to even come close to this mighty Pakistani unit.

#1 Shadab Khan
He is one of the most enterprising players of the current generation. Shadab Khan is an asset for any side that he plays for. He is as good as a Wanindu Hasaranga to outfox batsmen. Khan is someone who uses the long handle to good effect. He is Pakistan’s lynchpin in the middle order. Khan currently has a modest record in the ODI format despite playing a sizeable number of games. But he has evolved as a player in the last 12-18 months. The 24-year old cricketer from Nepal has shown great promise in his brief career so far. Lalit Rajbanshi is one of the side’s leading bowler. His slow left-arm orthodox isn’t easy to get away. He has picked up 28 wickets in 16 games so far at an average of 16.60. His best figures in an innings read 5-20. Lalit will look to create an impression in the upcoming Asia Cup to attract franchise attention too.

#1 Naseem Shah
He is another one from the Pakistan factory of fast bowlers. Naseem Shah broke onto the scene when he was just 16-years old. He has gone from strength to strength since he made his debut in 2019. Shah tested all the Asian batters in the last edition of the Asia Cup. He continued the excellent showing in 2022 T20 World Cup too. Shah has played just 10 ODIs but has already picked up 25 wickets at an outstanding average of 16.1. His bowling strike rate of 20.9 is brilliant!
#2 Kushal Bhurtel
He opens the batting for Nepal. Kushal Bhurtel is someone who has got tremendous numbers in T20I. He averages 45.75 in 16 T20Is underlining his tremendous potential. Bhurtel’s numbers in ODIs though is still a work in progress. He averages a paltry 22.94 after playing 39 ODIs. Bhurtel will be looking to have a breakthrough Asia Cup for people to take notice of his talent.
