Ahead of WTC Final, BCCI Hits The Milestone Of 18 Million Instagram Followers

The much-anticipated inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final is only three days away, and India is preparing to play the Black Caps, who recently defeated England 1-0 in a two-match Test series. The BCCI recently uploaded footage of players including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rishabh Pant training and practicing, which drew in a large number of viewers.

“Three sleeps away from the BIG GAME How excited are you? #WTC21 #TeamIndia”

The Indian cricket team has nearly 14.5 million followers on a Twitter account entitled BCCI, in addition to Instagram. It also doesn’t lag behind on Facebook, where it has 28 million likes. The Men in Blue arrived in England on June 3 and, after completing their necessary quarantine, were given the opportunity to play an intra-squad practice game ahead of the summit showdown on June 18.

Aside from the regular training videos, the official Twitter account also posted some practicing game footage of players gearing up for the final game. Virat Kohli’s video, in which the batter displays his different strokes with a steely and confident expression in his eyes, was by far the most popular of the videos posted. It also included a caption, “Three sleeps away from the BIG GAME How excited are you? #WTC21 #TeamIndia,” the caption read.

The BCCI continues to release footage of the women’s team, who are on an all-format trip to England, in addition to the men’s team. It just posted a video of vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur on the difficulties of returning to a Test match after seven years. The women’s team will play a one-off Test on June 16 and then six white-ball matches after that.
