After Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh Takes A dig At Greg Chappell

Worst Days Of Indian Cricket:

In hitting former Indian head coach Greg Chappell, Yuvraj Singh joined with his former teammate, Harbhajan Singh. After talking on the former captain MS Dhoni, Harbhajan referred the earlier days of Greg Chappell’s time as the ‘worst days of Indian cricket’.

It all began with Harbjahan taking note of an article on Dhoni which Chappell quoted as saying that he told the Ranchi wicketkeeper not to hit any ball to its borders, but trying to play more alongside the ground.

Harbhajan’s post read: “He asked Dhoni to play along the ground coz coach was hitting everyone out the park… He was playing different games. #worstdaysofindiancricketundergreg.”

Yuvraj replied to Harbhajan’s Tweet and seemingly took a dig at Chappell. His post read: “Msd and Yuvi no sixes in the last 10 play down the ground.”

From 2005 to 2007 he coached the Indian team during two controversial years, in which he struck with many senior team leaders including then captain and current President Sourav Ganguly of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI).

However, the growth of many younger players such as Dhoni and Suresh Raina was also renowned.

“When I saw Dhoni for the first time in batting, I shocked. He certainly was India’s most exciting cricket player. He hit the ball in the most strange ways. He’s the most strong batsman I’ve ever seen,” Chappell said during a chat on the Playwrite Foundation which is handled by Facebook.

MSD And Yuvi No Sixes In The Last 10 Play Down The Ground: Yuvraj Singh

The next match was at Pune. I asked MS ‘why don’t you play the ball more along the field instead of trying every ball to the boundary’ We were chasing 260 runs, so we were in a good place so Dhoni was playing an innings that was in contrast with the one that he had played just a few days before. “I recall his knock against Sri Lanka scoring 183 and his balls were ripped apart.

“There still needed twenty runs to win and Dhoni asked me, by the 12th man RP Singh, if he could have hit six. I did not tell him until the target was a single digit. Whenever required six runs to win, he finished the match with six runs,” he said.
