Abdur Razzaq Offered The Role Of The Selector By Bangladesh Cricket Board

BCB Is Eyeing Former Left-Arm Spinner Abdur Razzak:

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is trying to associate the former Bangladeshi player Abdur Razzak to be the third member of their national selection panel.

He will be working with former Bangladesh skippers Minhajul Abedin and Qazi Habibul Basha and as a replacement for Faruk Ahmed. The 37 years old Abdur Razzak played from 2004 to 2018 for Bangladesh national cricket team in all three formats. He was the first Bangladeshi cricketer, who could take 200 wickets in one day international (ODI) matches.

The Bangladesh cricket board confirmed that they have offered the role of selectors to Abdur Razzak and he is taking time to take the decision.

Akram Khan:

The chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Akram Khan said that “I have told our selector Habibul Bashar to know the mindset of Abdur Razzak about our proposal of being the third member of our selection panel. He is taking the time to make the decision as he is playing in the DPL (Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League). But it has not confirmed whether Abdur wants to extend his carrier or not”.

Abdur Razak:

The left-arm spinner, Abdur Razzak accepted that he has been contacted from BCB for the role of selector but didn’t reply because of his commitments in DPL.  He said that “I have told them that I will let them know for this offer after the Dhaka Premier League. Now as the league matches are delayed, I can think about this.

From the external reports, it was also known that BCB was also considering the slow left-arm orthodox bowler, Manjurul Islam and former T20 International skipper for Bangladesh, Shahriar Nafees for the role but none of them replied yet.

Currently, BCB also contacted Sanjay Bangar as a batting consultant for their Test side but because of Bangar’s other professional commitments; he has to deny this offer.
