Now he will return to Australia and complete 14 days quarantine period – After this, he is likely to undergo surgery.

Cricket Australia’s medical team is positive about this recovery and they are confident enough that he will be all right before the ICC T20 world cup in the UAE and Oman, which commences in mid-October.

Finch has released a press note stating – “I am extremely disappointed to be heading home,” Finch said in an official release. “This was considered the best course of action rather than traveling to Bangladesh, not being able to play, and losing that recovery time. I will have the surgery if required and start the recovery process ahead of the World Cup,”

Alex Carey has been named as the news skipper of Australia and he will lead the side in his absence against West Indies.

In an interview, Carey said – “I am deeply honored to be able to lead the team while Aaron recovers. To captain Australia is one of the greatest privileges in sport and honor I am extremely thankful to receive,”

Speaking about Aaron Finch, Carey said – “Finchy is our captain and we will welcome him back with open arms when he is fully fit, so for now I hope I can fill the role to his extremely high standards. To lead this group against the West Indies in the West Indies is a great challenge and one I very much look forward to for as long as I have the opportunity,”

Carey has previously been mentioned as a possible leadership candidate if Tim Paine retired from his best form. The Australian head coach, Justin Langer, praised Carey for his dedication and professionalism.
