IPL, a platform for young talents:
Over the years, the Indian Premier League is becoming a great platform to uncap young talents to show their expertise and make their path to the national team. So far, the performance of the young players has been the limelight of this edition, which includes Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, and many more who lit up the 2020 IPL with their amazing performances.
Here are 5 promising new players from this 2020 IPL:
1. Sanju Samson ( Rajasthan Royals) :
In the year 2014, he received his 1st national call-up. Sanju Samson played for the 1st time against Zimbabwe in a T20. The wicket-keeper batsman has put respectable scores in domestic cricket along with IPL. However, this 2020 IPL could prove to be a new turn for him, as already he has stunned everyone with his knocks. Against CSK, he scored 74 runs in 32 balls, and against KXIP, he scored 85 runs in 42 balls.
2. Shubman Gill (Kolkata Knight Rider):
In the U-19 Cricket World Cup, Shubman Gill received the player of the tournament title. In 2019, he played his 1st match and for two years he has been a crucial player for KKR. Against SRH, he scored 70, and against RR, he scored 47 so far, which proves that he has a lot of potentials.
- Ravi Bishnoi (Kings XI Punjab):
In India U-19 team, the Jodhpur leg spinner, Ravi Bishnoi was an important member and he finished the U-19 Cricket World Cup by being the highest wicket-taker. For KXIP, he made his debut and played against DC and impressed everyone with figures 1-22.
- Devdutt Padikkal (Royal Challengers Bangalore):
The Karnataka born, Devdutt Padikkal spent the whole 2019 IPL edition residing in bench players for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Finally, he got the opportunity in this season and show the whole world that what he can do. In three matches, he scored fifty-plus and makes an impression in everyone’s heart.
- Shivam Mavi (Kolkata Knight Riders):
The Uttar Pradesh all-rounder, Shivam Mavi was a crucial player of the Indian team that won the ICC U19 World Cup in the year 2018. His outstanding speed of 140 kmph and hurrying batsman spirit impressed everyone. In this season, he played 2 matches, and in these two matches, against KKR, he picked 2 wickets by conceding 20 runs, and against SRH, conceded 15 runs in 2 overs.
