5 Indians With Highest T20I Strike Rates: India is gunning for a second T20 World Cup title. The venue for this edition is Australia. It will be for the first time that the T20 World Cup will be played down under. The challenge for major batters will be to clear the large grounds of Australia. Batsmen need to time the ball really well to dispatch the ball over the ropes. The mishits will no longer (largely) fetch great results. India will need its power hitters to bat big and clear the fences frequently.
We look at Indians with the Highest T20I Strike Rates: (Minimum 500 runs)
#5 Rohit Sharma (139.62)
He is arguably one of the finest limited-overs batsmen of all time. Rohit Sharma is the only batsman to score 4 T20I tons. His records in T20Is speak for themselves. He has gone off the boil in the IPL for the past couple of seasons. But that hasn’t deterred Sharma the batter in T20Is. His numbers continue to be impressive in the format. He strikes at 139.62, an above-par number for someone opening the batting.
#4 Dinesh Karthik (141.12)
He has been India’s biggest comeback man. Dinesh Karthik forced his way into the Indian team on the back of strong performances in the IPL. Karthik is expected to do a very specialized role for his team. He aces the game in overs between 16-20. Karthik’s 8-ball 29 in the Nidahas Trophy final still remains fresh in the memory of Indian fans. He strikes at 141.12 in 35 T20I innings so far.
#3 KL Rahul (142.49)
He was India’s standout T20I batsman not so long ago. But recurrent injuries have derailed his high-flying T20I career. KL Rahul is the only other Indian batter apart from Rohit Sharma who has multiple T20I centuries. He is excellent against both pace and spin. Rahul came undone against Pakistan and New Zealand in the last edition of the T20 World Cup. He will be eager to make amends this time around. Rahul strikes at 142.49 in T20Is.
#2 Hardik Pandya (147.22)
He was number one on the list of Indian batters with the highest T20I strike rate for quite some time. His ability to effortlessly clear boundaries makes him special. Captaincy has sat well on Hardik Pandya. A new dimension has been added to his game in the past few months. His form and fitness will be of prime importance to the team heading into the World Cup. Pandya strikes at 147.22 in 44 innings.
#1 Suryakumar Yadav (177.22)
Topping the charts not just for India but across the world in terms of strike rate is Suryakumar Yadav. No other batsmen from a full-member nation have a better T20I strike rate than Surya. His ability to get going right from ball one makes him unique. There has hardly been a game where Surya has disappointed. His stroke-filled T20I century against England was of the top draw. He is 30 points clear of Hardik Pandya. Surya’s strike rate after 19 innings is an insane 177.22!
