5 Indian Cricketers Who Can Expect Better Salary

Indian cricket is in one of its best phases currently. The team has notched up great victories in recent months. It has won all the series across formats barring one against both Australia and England. The Indian players have stepped up brilliantly. There are few Indian players who have played a significant role in India’s recent success. StumpsandBails believes certain such 5 players will get an increment from BCCI.

#5 Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill showcased his worth during India’s tour to Australia. His 91 in the 2nd innings of the Gabba Test paved India’s historic victory. Gill is a player who has the technique to excel in all conditions. He will soon be playing all 3 formats for India. Gill is certain to be awarded with an annual contract. He will bag Grade C contract in all likelihood.

#4 Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar played a key role in India’s series winning victories over Australia and England. He proved to be an able replacement for Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin in India’s historic win at Gabba, Brisbane. Sundar’s batting ability has already won India a couple of close games. He is India’s key bowling operators in powerplay in T20I’s. Sundar is likely to fetch a Grade B contract this coming season. He will join the likes of Hardik Pandya in the group.

#3 Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur is an efficient performer. He has come of age as a match-winner. Thakur’s impact has grown with every match. He has picked the most number of wickets in limited-overs for India this year. Thakur is a handy lower-order batter too. His contributions with the bat have been invaluable. Thakur currently holds a Grade-C contract. He will most likely fetch a contract upgrade this season. He is expected to enter the Grade-B category.

#2 Mohammad Siraj

Mohammad Siraj is one of the most honest triers in Indian cricket. His success story is a fairytale in itself. Siraj not just won hearts but also earned plaudits thanks to his exploits in Australia. He made his international debut for India in 2017 in T20I’s. Siraj had a match to forget then. But he has worked his way up the ladder and earned the Test cap. His performance in Tests is expected to land him a Grade-C contract with BCCI for sure.

#1 Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is arguably one of the hottest players in the international circuit. He has become India’s most valuable player across formats. There has been no stopping Rishabh Pant in the last few months. Pant’s heroics have helped India register famous wins. He has become a certainty across all formats just like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah. These all-format Indian players receive an A+ grade contract. Pant too will join this avant grade soon!
