Sanjay Manjrekar Reaction After Removed From BCCI

Sanjay Manjrekar Was Moved Out Of The BCCI Commentary Panel:

The former Test batsman-turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar took to Twitter on Sunday and shared his feeling after being removed from the BCCI commentary panel.

According to the media statement, On Thursday, Sanjay Manjrekar was moved out of the Board of Control for Cricket in India commentary council. He was not in HPCA Stadium Dharmasala for the 1st ODI between India and South Africa.

The match was canceled due to rain, while the rest two matches canceled due to coronavirus outbreak.

“I have always considered commentary as a great privilege, but never an entitlement. It is up to my employers whether they choose to have me or not & I will always respect that. Maybe BCCI has not been happy with my performance of late. I believe that as a professional,” Sanjay Manjrekar tweeted.

As per the report, Manjrekar wouldn’t be a part of the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2020 commentary panel as well. IPL was about to start on March 29, but due to coronavirus outbreak, the tournament has been suspended until April 15.

In 2019, Manjrekar, one of the most skillful commentators among Indian experts, got disordered in controversies in recent years for some of his words towards players. He also subjected to a lot of criticism on social media for his comments on Ravindra Jadeja and his argument with Harsha Bhogle.

Jadeja Responded On Manjrekar Words:

During the World Cup in England, Manjrekar had tweeted that Jadeja is a “bits and pieces cricketer.”

“I have played twice the number of matches you have played in your career, and I am still playing. Learn to respect people who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhea. @sanjaymanjrekar,” Jadeja had responded.

However, Sanjay Manjrekar apologized to Jadeja as well as Harsha Bhogle after India’s semi-final loss to New Zealand at the World Cup. He said that as a commentator, 2019 was his “worst year.”
