BCCI appoints VPS healthcare for 2020 IPL as its medical partner:
The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has assigned VPS Healthcare, which is based in the UAE for the 2020 Indian Premier League, which is scheduled to be started from 19th September in the UAE.
The healthcare group is led by Shamsheer Vayalil, who is the son-in-law of MA Yusuf Ali, the founder of Lulu Supermarket. He will take care of all end-to-end medical solutions for the league.
According to the agreement, VPS Healthcare will support the tournament by arranging musculoskeletal imaging services, emergency medical support, medical admissions, sports medicine services, and ambulance and treatment support along with air ambulance services.
Also, VPS Healthcare is the official partner of 2020 IPL and had started testing after the arrivals of all the teams in the UAE. The group is also handling the operation and management of the COVID-19 centers for the cash-rich league in cooperation with the health regulatory authorities.
Along with this, the VPS Healthcare group will take care of all the medical side of the league.
The chief executive officer of VPS Healthcare, Shajir Gaffar said they are all set and ready to take the responsibility of IPL.
He said “We know the vitality and responsibility on us and the difficulty level of stopping a dangerous virus. But we are fully prepared, and our team is confident enough and dedicated to delivering our best services.”
Since starting in the year 2007, VPS Healthcare has improved a lot and become one of the largest healthcare organizations managing and owning 125 medical centers, 23 hospitals, and retail pharmacy networks.
