SRH’s tryst with destiny:
Sunrisers Hyderabad came unstuck against Delhi Capitals in Dubai. They had no clue about the pace of the Delhi bowlers. They huffed and puffed their way to a score of 134. SRH never really looked threatening during the entire game. They were behind the eight-ball right since David Warner was dismissed off the 3rd ball.
SRH have now lost 7 of their first 8 games. They need to win all their remaining 7 games to entertain any hopes of qualification. SRH have done it before but it looks too steep a task this time around given the turmoil around the team. But ironically their next match is against Punjab. A side they defeated in the earlier fixture to notch their lone win this season up until now.
Punjab’s finishing troubles:
Punjab Kings haven’t fared much better either. They are currently 7th in the points table with 3 wins in 9 games. The Kings could have very well booked a seat in the mid-table but they threw it away in the last minute against the Royals.
They needed 10 runs in 15 balls chasing 186 with 8 wickets in hand. The equation was then reduced to 8 of 2 overs and finally 4 off 1 over. But in what can be called an epic choke, Kings went on to lose the game. They too much like SRH seem to have squandered their chances. A defeat like that isn’t easy to brush away. They will be up against SRH, a side they had earlier lost to in the season.

Wicket-Keeper:
KL Rahul: KL Rahul is 2nd on the list of highest run-getters this season.
Nicholas Pooran: Nicholas Pooran looked in great touch until he departed last game.
Batsmen:
Kane Williamson: He looked scratchy in his stay in the game against DC. But he will be keen to get back amongst the runs.
Abdul Samad: He showcased good hitting skills. Samad needs to stay longer at the crease to make an impact.
Mayank Agarwal: He has done the bulk of the work for his team along with Rahul.
All-rounders:
Jason Holder: He can be equally effective both with the bat and the ball.
Fabian Allen: He did not get a chance to bowl or bat for a longer time, as he is an effective allrounder.
Bowlers:
Rashid Khan: He is difficult to read and get away. He will trouble Punjab’s batsmen in the middle.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar: He is yet to return to his best bowling form. This might be that game.
Mohammad Shami: He looked sharp against the Royals. He will want to continue his good form.
Arshdeep Singh: He became one of the youngest bowlers to pick up a 5-wicket haul in the IPL last game.
