Babar Azam, the prolific batsman from Pakistan has emerged as the new batting superstars in international cricket. He is technically very sound and looks very similar to Virat Kohli. Arguments take place whether Pakistan’s batsman is better than his Indian counterpart. Now, in interaction, Babar has come out himself and opened up.
In 2015, the 25-year-old made his international debut and had become a run-machine for his national team. His cricketing dictionary includes a wide range of strokes and plays them all with great elegance. Babar banks on his traditional batting style which become a bowling unit headache. During a video conference interview with reporters, Pakistan’s T20 and captain of the ODI said that if he is not compared to the likes of Virat Kohli. He’s another kind of player As per him. The number one T20 captain also claimed that his job is only to score runs on the field and win more matches for his side.
“These comparisons will be nice if they are not done. He is another kind of player [Kohli], I am another kind. This is why I always say that my job is to help my team succeed, “said Babar Azam.
He was named as Pakistan’s new skipper in a 50-over format earlier this month. He also opened up over many big challenges lying ahead of him while at the helm. And he is well prepared to take up any future challenge.
“There are challenges ahead. I know there is pressure and responsibility coming to me very soon in my career. But I can’t say, “I’m not prepared.” It is your responsibility. People gave me this responsibility, as they felt I am ready. I’m prepared for the challenge, “he added.
