Top four catches in IPL 2022: In the first 14 years, IPL never gave a single dull moment. The cash-rich league tournament provided every possible entertainment to its viewers during its 14 editions.
And the 15th edition has been no different. Apart from some spectacular batting and bowling showcases, in the ongoing season, we have also witnessed great catches that forced everybody to jump out of their chairs.
Let’s take a look at four of the best catches in the IPL 2022 so far:-
- Jos Butler produced a moment of brilliance against Mumbai Indians in the 9th match of the IPL 2022 season.
After scoring a spectacular century in the same game, Butler grabbed a perfect catch under the setting sun in the DY Patil Stadium in the 16th over. Daniel Sams mistimed Yuzvendra Chahal’s delivery as the ball hung in the air for a while and Butler chased the ball and took a perfectly judged catch near the deep mid-wicket area. - The young gun Shubhman Gill took a stunning catch in his first match for Gujarat Titans.
During the 4th over of the game between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, Aaron bowled a short ball and played a shot in the gap towards mid-wicket, but he was clueless about Gill’s skills. Gill while running backward traced the ball perfectly and dismissed Lewis with this ultra-electrifying catch. - Fast bowler David Willey is in second place courtesy of his difficult catch that he took during the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s clash against Kolkata Knight Riders in match 06 of IPL 2022.
Willey made the challenging catch too easy with his impressive fielding technique and collected a brilliant catch while running backward. - The veteran Ambati Rayudu claimed the first position in the list and why not as he left all stunned with his brilliant catch in the 22nd match of IPL 2022 between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Rayudu took the mind-blowing catch with only three fingers even after his elbow touched the ground. Akash Deep, when trying to gently push Ravindra Jadeja’s ball in the 16th over, was shocked by the extra bounce as the ball lobbed up in the air and Rayudu did no mistake and grab a splendid catch.
