Since the Indian Premier League (IPL) has concluded, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has turned its attention to international cricket. In light of this, the BCCI has requested that all Indian players arrive in New Delhi by June 5, the date on which the first fixture of a five-match T20I series versus South Africa will take place. The instructions were given out on Monday (30 May), and the squad will get a few practice matches before their first encounter, which will take place in the nation’s capital on June 9.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has previously revealed that KL Rahul would lead the team as skipper, while Rishabh Pant will serve as his deputy. The remaining 4 meetings of the series are scheduled to take place in Cuttack, Vizag & Rajkot on June 12, 14 & 17, respectively and the final match of the campaign will take place in Bangalore on June 19.
A member from the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) has said that the Indian cricket squad gets together on June 5. According to Cricket South Africa (CSA), the squad captained by Temba Bavuma, which also features David Miller, the standout batter for the IPL championship-winning franchise Gujarat Titans, will arrive in Delhi on June 2, Thursday.
Dravid Will Be Considered Necessary To Be With Team India For England Series
According to prior reports, the Indian Test team will fly to England on June 16, whereas another white-ball group will fly to Ireland for 2 Twenty20 matches on June 23-24. The Indian Test team will play in England. After the conclusion of the last match on June 19, the members of the Test and Twenty20 teams, Rahul, Pant, and Shreyas Iyer, will depart for the United Kingdom. They will travel immediately from Bangalore.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has indeed revealed that VVS Laxman and his group of the coaching staff, physiotherapists, and trainers from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will be coaching the team that will be travelling to Ireland. This is because Dravid will be considered necessary to be with the Test series in England.
Meanwhile, it is still unclear if Dravid would oversee the entire series in South Africa or will depart on June 16 with the Test players and give over the T20 squad to Laxman. If Dravid leaves on June 16 with the Test players, then Laxman will take over the T20 team.
