Smriti Mandhana moves up to 3rd place in Batting rankings

In the women’s T20I batter rankings, Smriti Mandhana has moved up one position to third after recording an unbeaten 42-ball 63 against Pakistan at the Commonwealth Games.

Mandhana’s explosive half-century enabled her to overtake Sophie Devine, move into the top three, and close the gap to Beth Mooney, who is ranked second, by only two rating points. In first place is Meg Lanning.

Mandhana had previously ranked No. 3 among T20I hitters, most recently in October of last year and first in 2019 respectively.

Following six T20Is at the Commonwealth Games, the standings were revised. Alyssa Healy and Chamari Athapaththu were passed by Suzie Bates to move up to sixth spot after her 91 not out off 64 balls against South Africa.

Harmanpreet Kaur, who made a half-century against Australia in the CWG opener, rose four spots to take the 14th spot.

The Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner moved up in all three T20I rankings, making her one of the greatest gainers. She moved up five spots to number 11 on the batters list thanks to her game-winning 52 unbeaten in the first game against India. Then, in a devastating nine-wicket victory against Barbados, she excelled with the ball, returning 2 for 6 to move up to 26th place on the bowlers list. Additionally, Gardner rose four spots to a career-high third position in the all-rounders standings.

Jess Jonassen, who had a 4 for 22 total against India, rose two positions to fourth place on the bowlers’ standings, as Sophie Ecclestone continued to hold the lead.

Amelia Kerr and Megan Schutt have each climbed one position to take the seventh and eighth spots, respectively. In the top ten bowlers rankings, Hayley Matthews replaces Ayabonga Khaka as the lone newcomer.
