Cheteshwar Pujara smashes career-best 174

The Indian Test match specialist Cheteshwar Pujara played a brilliant inning of 174 marking his career-best List-A score for him in limited over cricket. Here in this article, we talk about Cheteshwar Pujara smashes career-best 174.

The match was one-sided where Sussex dominated the whole game both with the bat and ball as well, and Pujara was the star man once again as he managed to score 174 runs from just 131 deliveries.

Tom Clark also helped the Sussex side with his 104 of 106 deliveries which gave the scorecard a boost, where the Sussex was able to set the target of 378 runs for six wickets.

At the start of the innings, the Sussex side lost both their openers early but both Tom and Pujara smashed runs all over the park and helped their side set up more than a decent total.

The Surrey came to bat in the second half with a huge total to chase down but in the process lost one of their openers, and Ryan Patel tried to pull the innings forward by scoring 65 runs off 56 deliveries but later fell prey to Crocomble pace, even Tom Lawes managed to score 57 of 60 balls but was unable to stand strong.

Sussex Bowled well, especially Aristides Karvelas picked up four wickets with an economy of 4.37 in his 8-over spell and helped the Sussex side to clean the batting line up of Surrey under 162 and calm the victory by 216 runs.

Pujara scored his second consecutive hundred in less than 48 hours. First, he scored 107 runs from 79 balls against the Warwickshire side and now he scored his career-best list-A score of 174.

Pujara is known for his batting style and skills in the Test match and this is probably the first time when Pujara is scoring back-to-back hundreds in a List-A limited overs format game in recent times.

Can Pujara make a comeback to the Indian ODI squad if he continues to perform at this level, only time will tell, and we just have to wait and watch what Pujara has to offer.
