Rajasthan Royals To Celebrate Shane Warne’s Life
Rajasthan Royals To Celebrate Shane Warne’s Life: During their Indian Premier League encounter against Mumbai Indians on Saturday, the Rajasthan Royals will pay tribute to famous Australian spinner Shane Warne, who passed away recently.
After the Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings by three wickets in the final in 2008, Warne was awarded the original IPL trophy, and his old team announced that it would pay homage to its first skipper on the 14th anniversary of the team’s success. Warne’s brother, Jason, will also be in attendance, according to the franchise, since he accepted an offer from the Jaipur-based team.
Warne, regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, died of a suspected heart attack last month on the Thai island of Koh Samui. He was 52 years old at the moment. Between 1992 and 2007, he bowled 708 Test wickets and 293 ODI wickets in 194 matches.
“It’s natural that the cricketing world will come together to pay their respects and celebrate Warne’s life at the same venue where he won the IPL championship.” the Royals stated in a communique. He further continued, “The franchise would like to iterate that it will not be an occasion to mourn, but to commemorate the great man, and salute him for his never-ending contribution to the game of cricket as well as impacting thousands of lives around the world through his words, energy, and actions both on and off the field.”
Warne’s family received a special invitation, and we are thrilled that his brother, Jason Warne, will be traveling down to Mumbai to join us for the festivities. The Royals have also reached out to the Batch of 2008, thanking everyone who has written in respect to the greatest leg-spinner of all time. On the day of the match, these tributes will be available on the Rajasthan Royals‘ social media accounts as well as the Star Sports broadcast stream.
Shane Warne’s brother, Jason Warne, will go down to Mumbai to take part in the festivities. “The Royals have also reached out to the 2008 batch, and are grateful to everyone who has written in their respects to the greatest leg-spinner of all time,” the club added.
The Rajasthan Royals’ playing team will wear the unique letters “SW23” on the leading collar of their official playing shirts as a homage to the icon and keep his presence with them throughout the game.
