PCB Shifts ODI Series Against West Indies From Rawalpindi To Multan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially made the decision to play the upcoming ODI series featuring Pakistan and the West Indies in Multan. The series would comprise 3 matches. This decision was made by the committee on Monday the 30th of May. The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was scheduled to serve as the host venue for the two-match bilateral series. Here is why PCB Shifts ODI Series.

Back in December, the West Indies played a limited-overs series in Pakistan when they were there on tour. The one-day international phase of the series was obliged to be postponed to a subsequent date when many instances of COVID-19 were identified by the West Indies squad and support personnel. The hosts, on the other hand, cruised to an easy 3-0 victory in the Twenty20 Internationals barely raising a strain. After some time had passed, PCB provided confirmation that the revised series would now be contested in the month of June.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not provided any specific details regarding the reason why there’s been an adjustment in the venue at the very last minute; however, according to reports, the progress has been decided to make owing to the fact that the arena could not accommodate a large number of spectators as expected.

ODI series is a component of qualifying for ICC Men’s Cricket WC 2023

Imran Khan was forced to step down from his role just after the motion of no confidence has been held against him in April. The decision was brought about by allegations that he was involved in the exploitation of the country’s economy as well as the nation’s international policy. Shehbaz Sharif became his successor when he departed.

The Pakistani squad will be headed by Babar Azam, one of the elevating giants of international cricket. Nicholas Pooran, a wicketkeeper who bats, will serve as the captain of the West Indies team. The forthcoming one-day international series would be a component of qualifying for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The dates for each of the 3 contests have been set for June 8th, 10th, and 12th accordingly.

Since suffering a defeat in the first game of a three-match series against Australia well almost 2 months ago, Pakistan will be brimming with self-assurance as they prepare to play a series on their home turf. They defeated the defending five-time world champions Aussie by a convincing margin of 2-1 in that series, which they won conclusively.
