Pat Cummins Ruled Out Of IPL 2022: On Friday, it was announced that all-rounder Pat Cummins will not be participating in the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 campaign. KKR star performer Cummins, who finished the game against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday with a total of 3-22 from his spell, had an MRI performed on his right hip after the game was finished.
According to the source, Australia’s Test skipper, Pat Cummins, has been on his way to return to his home in Sydney in order to heal from his injury and get back into shape in preparation for an all-format series in Sri Lanka the following month.
“Cummins had been managing the niggle through the IPL but, with Kolkata only having an outside chance of making the playoffs, he will complete his rehabilitation at home before flying out for the ODI and Test legs of next month`s Sri Lanka tour,” said the report.
“Cummins recovery is only expected to take a fortnight. It had already been announced he would miss the three T20 Internationals that begin the six-week-long tour of Sri Lanka,” the report added.
I had an amazing time in India: Cummins
Cummins played 5 matches for Kolkata during the IPL 2022 season. From one of those fixtures, he fired up the competition by scoring a stunning 14-ball half-century and remaining undefeated on 56 runs while playing against Mumbai Indians in Pune after posting numbers of 2/49.
Cummins wasn’t able to perform well enough with the ball for Kolkata to use him until the return encounter versus Mumbai on Monday. In that game, he took three wickets and helped his team win by 52 runs.
