Patrick James Cummins, popularly known as Pat Cummins was born in Westmead, New South Wales, Australia on 8 May 1993. Pat Cummins is an Australian right-arm fast bowler who has been a consistent part of the national side for almost 5 years in all three formats. Presently, Pat Cummins is the Captain of the Australian Test team and vice-captain of the Australian limited-overs squad. Pat Cummins also has the ability to hit the ball hard in the lower middle order mostly in the limited-overs format. Cummins is the best test bowler in the world as of now. In TATA IPL 2022, Pat Cummins was roped in Kolkata Knight Riders in the mega auction for a whopping amount of 7.25 crores. Cummins made a record of the joint-fastest half-century in the history of IPL in just 14 balls.

Pat Cummins Early Life and Education

Pat Cummins started playing cricket at an early age of 6 years. Cummins visited St. Paul’s Grammar School and played a lot of matches for his school team in the early years. After some years, Cummins started playing for Glenbrook- Blaxland Cricket Club in the Mountains in 2008. He also represented New South Wales in the Under-17 and then Under-19 level matches. Pat Cummins did his graduation in Business from University of Technology, Sydney in an Athlete Program in 2017.

Pat Cummins made his first-class debut for New South Wales in 2010 in a match against Tasmania. He picked 2 wickets on his debut.

A month later, he made his List-A debut for New South Wales in a match against Queensland in Sydney and took 1 wicket on his debut.

In 2019, Pat Cummins was appointed as the Vice-captain of the Australian Test team. In his first match as vice-captain against Sri Lanka, Cummins took 10 wickets in the match and won Player of the Match award.

In the same year, he became the Number 1 test bowler in the world.

In Ashes 2019, Pat Cummins took 29 wickets in 5 matches and again ended up as the highest wicket taker in the series as he rattled England’s batting unit in all the matches.

In 2020-21 Test series against India, Pat Cummins took 21 wickets in 4 matches and was named as Player of the series even when Australia lost the series on their own soil.

In ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Pat Cummins took 5 wickets in 6 matches and helped his team in winning the title for the first time in the history.

In November 2021, Pat Cummins was appointed as the captain of the Australian team.
