Shaheen Shah Afridi, the ace bowler from Pakistan, is seemingly relentless from going away of Asia Cup 2022. The southpaw will be a part of the tournament, where he would be joining his fellow players in the dressing room.

His absence on the ground might disappoint the fans. But there is some good news coming up. Afridi, who is suffering from knee injury, would be joining the squad off the ground and watch his team’s performance from the dressing room.

According to some news reports, Afridi was seen with this teammates in UAE where all the six squads are on a tour for various practice sessions being conducted. Just before the tournaments, the teams have started designing their strategies with their managements.

Even the managements are thoroughly available with the players in order to prepare for the upcoming fixtures. Even, the Pakistan team has reached Dubai as part of preparation plans for 2022 Asia Cup series.

Against this backdrop, the news about Shaheen Shah Afridi’s injury was nothing but a great setback for the team as he is one of those match-winning bowlers for Pakistan side.

Afridi is suffering with injury. He is going through the Pakistan Cricket Board’s assigned medical tests as part of the rehabilitation process. However, as his absence would provide an advantage for the opponent teams, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has reportedly requested him to stay back with the team.

“Babar wanted him to stay with the team. Management wants to closely monitor his injury rehab. He will be staying in Dubai itself with the team.” confirmed a PCB spokesperson to the local media agencies in Pakistan.

Recently, Afridi’s picture with a knee brace protection went viral. His absence left his fans disappointed after he was ruled out of T20 Asia Cup 2022 due to a knee injury. Fans who were curious to know his condition, were relieved after his picture circulated on the internet platform about his knee injury.
