Cricketer and top-order batsman Mithali Raj led India to a 3-0 victory over South Africa in the three-match ODI series on Monday. After Indian women’s’ triumph, Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to congratulate the team, acknowledging Mithali Raj’s achievement.
Mithali Raj replied to Sachin Tendulkar’s tweet by calling him a champion. “It feels good to be acknowledged by a person that I if truth be told be pleased looked up to all my life .. thanks champion,” the tweet read.
However, a troll tried to question her language preference, saying: “She would now not know Tamil. She will be able to focus on in English, Telugu, Hindi,” Mithali was fast to close it down, as she replied with a tweet in Tamil saying it’s her mother tongue and that she is a proud Indian.
