South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada on Friday reached a milestone of picking up 250 wickets in the test cricket format, he is the seventh South African to achieve this amazing feat at the age of 27.
Kagiso Rabada New Milestone joins one of the elite list categories by picking up 250 wickets in 53 matches with an average of 22.10 with 3.29 economy, Rabada has bowled more than ten thousand ballsin the test format.
Rabada is coming back from an injury after spending more than one year away from test cricket, he started with a band and took a five-wicket haul in the first innings which helped the South African side to restrict England from setting a decent total and in the Second phase of bowling Rabada took two wickets contributing in the victory against the might in form England side in the Lord’s cricket stadium.
This victory against England has made South Africa jump their rankings to the number one spot in the World Test Championship.
Rabada is now a well-established right-arm fast bowler who marked his name when he was just 21 years old. He is a genuine quick bowler who can regularly bowl in the 140-150kph range.
Rabada is the one among the seven players who have picked up more than 250 wickets in their test career for South Africa, he is behind the legends like Dale Steyn with 439 wickets, Shaun Pollock with 421 wickets, Makhaya Ntini with 390 wickets, Allan Donald with 330 wickets, Morne Morkel with 309 wickets and Jacques Kallis with 291 wickets.
Kagiso Rabada is just 27 years old and he has a lot more to offer the South African side in terms of wickets, so it is just a matter of time when Rabada will surge past all the legends shortly, he just has to stay fit and concentrate on his game plan and eventually becoming one of the best fast bowlers of all time.
With the early win over the might England side the South African team will have a couple of days extra to rest before the second test at Old Trafford on Thursday.
